The Northwest Ohio Throws Academy was founded in 2007 with the mission of providing elite level coaching to anyone; and the promoting of the throwing events (Shot put, Discus, Hammer, and Javelin), at the youth and high school levels. Since its inceptions, NOTA has helped over 100 athletes improve their throwing. NOTA membership has evolved to also including collegiate, post collegiate and masters athletes. To date, NOTA has in part or in whole contributed to:
- 24 high school state champions across all throwing events indoor and outdoor.
- 55 High school Indoor and Outdoor State Championships qualifiers
- 1 Youth National Champion
- 8 New Balance Indoor Nationals qualifiers
- 8 USATF Jr. Nationals qualifiers
- 3 USATF Jr. All Americans
- 2 Jr. Pan-Am Championships qualifiers
- 2 Jr. World Championships qualifiers
- 4 USA Sr. National Championships qualifier
- 3 Olympic Trials qualifiers
- 3 Master’s National Champions
- 3 Master’s American Record Holders
To date NOTA athletes combined, have earned college scholarships exceeding $1,000,000. Additionally NOTA alumni have continued to stand out at the college level.
- 4 NCAA Division I All Americans
- 2 multiple NCAA Division I East Regional Champion
- 1 SEC Conference Champion
- 1, 4 time NCAA Division II National Champion.
