Northwest Ohio Throws Academy

NOTA February Updates

The indoor track and field season is heating up and several Northwest Ohio Throws Academy athletes have posted strong performances.

Leipsic senior Grace Rigel, who is committed to Miami, won both the girls weight throw and shot put at the Findlay High School Oiler Invite. She had distances of 40’1″ in the shot put and 46’3″ in the weight throw.

Van Buren High School sophomore Tyler Arbaugh also competed at Oiler Invite, where he threw a personal best of 64’2″ to win the weight throw. Arbaugh is currently ranked 22nd in the nation as is the top ranked sophomore.

Eastwood High School junior Erik Fertig is currently ranked 30th among high school boys in the U.S. with a weight throw distance of 61’8.25″.

Also at the Oiler Invite, Carey junior Lilly Adkins finished 2nd in the weight throw with a personal best performance of 42’11”. Leipsic freshman Ella Rigel had a personal bests of 42’3″ in the weight to finish 3rd and 31’4″ in the shot put.

Post-collegiate athlete Tom Postema also competed recently at the Findlay Elite Men’s Weight Throw competition where he finished 2nd with a toss of 21.56 meters or 70’9″.
